Sultanpur (UP), Nov. 6 -- The hearing on a defamation case filed against Congress leader and Rae Bareli MP Rahul Gandhi in the MP-MLA court of Sultanpur district here in Uttar Pradesh was postponed today due to the death of a lawyer.

The next hearing in the case will now be held on November 17. Rahul's counsel, Kashi Prasad Shukla, said that condolence was declared in the court due to the death of a lawyer, which prevented the hearing. This case goes back to 2018.

BJP leader Vijay Mishra, a resident of Hanumanganj, Kotwali Dehat, had filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi. He alleged that during the 2018 Karnataka elections, Rahul made derogatory remarks against the then BJP president and current Home Minister Amit Shah.
