Latur, Aug. 23 -- National Health Mission officers and employees began an indefinite hunger strike within the premises of Latur Zilla Parishad, pressing for multiple longstanding demands. The protest has been organised jointly by the National Health Mission Officers and Employees Mobilisation Committee and Ekta Sangh.
The agitating staff are demanding adjustment into regular government service, formulation of a proper transfer policy, wage hike, and a comprehensive health and accident insurance cover. The demonstration began with participants vowing to continue their hunger strike until their grievances receive positive consideration from the authorities.
