Betul, Oct. 8 -- In the wake of Coldrif cough syrup-linked deaths of two children in this district, the administration is on high alert.

Following the directive of Collector Narendra Kumar Suryavashi, medical stores and agencies across the district were inspected yesterday by joint teams comprising tehsildars, naib tehsildars, and block medical officers (BMOs).

Chief Medical and Health Officer Manoj Hurmade had handed over a list of 131 shops to the administration.

"There is neither any agency for the syrup in the district nor has it been sold here for the past 13 years," said Sub-Divisional Magistrate Abhijit Singh.

Two stores were sealed by the team led by Dr. Ashok Narware, the BMO of Amla block's Bordehi area.
