Bhopal, Jan. 23 -- The burden of non-communicable diseases including hypertension and diabetes is on the upward spiral in Madhya Pradesh, posing a threat to the physical and financial well-being of the residents.
One of the primary reasons for hypertension and other cardiovascular complications is diet containing unhealthy fats. The World Health Organization recommends that a healthy fare should contain less than 30 per cent of total energy intake as fats.
The Voluntary Organisation in Interest of Consumer Education (VOICE) - a Delhi-based protection group - is organising a 'Media Dialogue on Hypertension Management and Elimination of Trans-Fatty Acids' scheduled on Friday at a privately-managed hotel here, a release said.
