Kolkata, April 21 -- The Calcutta High Court is scheduled to hear on April 28 a plea challenging the dismissal of some 32,000 primary teachers in the West Bengal government-run schools by a new division bench of justices Tapabrata Chakraborty and Partha Sarathi Chatterjee, sources said on Monday.
The bench said the appeals made by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education and others, including that of those recruited, challenging the termination of job of primary teachers by a single bench, will be heard on April 28.
The appeals were assigned to the new bench by Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam after the matter was previously released by another bench headed by Justice Soumen Sen, who recused himself on personal grounds.
