HC sets aside FIR by Lilavati Trust against HDFC Bank CEO
Mumbai, Aug. 18 -- The Bombay high court today set aside a local magistrate court's order directing to register an FIR (first information report) against the HDFC Bank Managing Director and CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan on a complaint by Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust (LKMM Trust), which owns the Lilavati Hospital, a prominent healthcare institution in Mumbai.
A single-judge bench of Justice Shriram Modak in its order noted that the Magistrate at Girgaon had issued a notice to the Jagdishan, a proposed accused, without verifying the complaint and the witnesses in the case and even before taking cognisance of the said complaint.
