Shimla, July 24 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Wednesday took serious note of the increasing incidents of stray dog and monkey attacks in urban areas and directed the state to explore rehabilitation mechanisms through NGO collaboration, similar to cattle pounds.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia and Justice Ranjan Sharma was hearing a matter concerning the menace of stray animals in towns and cities. The court sought suggestions from the petitioners' counsels regarding setting up animal shelters for dogs and monkeys in partnership with NGOs.
