Kolkata, April 17 -- The Calcutta High Court on Thursday ordered restrictions on provocative speeches in West Bengal's Murshidabad district after three people were killed in large-scale violence and vandalism following protests against the Waqf Act, court sources said.
A bench of Justices Soumen Sen and Raja Basu Chowdhury while hearing a petition on the extension of the Central forces directed the Central forces to remain in the violence-hit district for now.
About 17 companies of Central armed forces have been deployed in trouble-hit Murshidabad.
