Chandigarh, Nov. 12 -- The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed a petition seeking transfer of the investigation into the suicide of Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The court ruled that there is no valid reason to doubt the ongoing probe being conducted by the Chandigarh Police.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Sanjeev Berry observed that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Chandigarh administration is conducting a fair and satisfactory inquiry. The court noted that no evidence suggested bias or negligence in the investigation process.
