Chandigarh, Nov. 28 -- The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed Haryana Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam's plea for dismissal of a petition filed against him for allegedly using religion to influence voters in the state Assembly elections last year.
The court's rejection of the plea to dismiss the petition filed under Order 7 Rule 11 of the Civil Procedure Code has dealt a setback to the minister in the ongoing election misconduct case.
The court has now scheduled December 4 for framing of issues, allowing the matter to proceed to trial.
