HC rejects ex-police officer Sachin Waze plea alleging unlawful arrest
Mumbai, March 6 -- The Bombay High Court on Thursday rejected a petition filed by former Mumbai Police officer Sachin Waze, who claimed in his plea on Wednesday that his arrest in the Antilia bomb scare case was unlawful and therefore, requested his release.
The court held that dismissed police officer Waze was not acting in his official capacity when he was arrested for allegedly planting an explosives-laden vehicle outside Antilia, the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani, and for the murder of businessman Mansukh Hiren. Therefore, no prior sanction was required for his arrest.
