Shimla, Sept. 11 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court has struck down the appointment of an assistant professor (zoology) at Sardar Patel University, Mandi, after finding that the selection was based on fake documents and violated UGC norms.

The post had been filled as per advertisement issued during the Jai Ram Thakur government. Justice Sandeep Sharma, while allowing a petition filed by Dr Rahul Bhardwaj, ruled that the candidate, Dr. Sarita Kumari, was wrongly given 10 marks for teaching experience from 2004-2008 despite not possessing the essential qualification of MPhil until 2008.
