Prayagraj, Dec. 11 -- The Allahabad High Court on Thursday ordered status quo with regard to demolition proceedings of Aiwan-e-Farhat banquet hall in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly.
The order was passed by a division bench of Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi and Justice Kunal Ravi Singh while hearing a petition filed by Farhat Jahan and Sarfaraz Wali Khan.
The court directed all parties to maintain status quo with respect to the property in question until the Bareilly Development Authority disposes of the matter.
The Bareilly Development Authority had taken action last week, demolishing unauthorized constructions in two banquet halls using bulldozers.
