Shimla, Oct. 30 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court today issued notices to the state government and the Kangra Cooperative Bank (KCB) over alleged misuse of government machinery in the Dehra Assembly by-election on July 10, 2024.

The petition was filed by Hoshiar Singh, BJP candidate in the Dehra Assembly by-election.

Kamlesh Thakur, wife of CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, won the Dehra Assembly by-election. The petitioner alleged that during the by-election code of conduct, the KCB management deposited Rs 50,000 each into the accounts of 67 women's groups and three months' worth of funds from the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana (IGPY) to 1,000 women in the Dehra Assembly.
