Mumbai, April 16 -- The Bombay High Court granted bail to a trainee naval engineer accused of sharing confidential information on restricted areas with Pakistani intelligence operatives who honey trapped him.
While granting the bail to the petitioner, Gaurav Arjun Patil, who was booked under the Official Secrets Act, and criminal conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in December 2023, the court warned the youth "hooked to social media" against being honey trapped.
The court asked Patil to appear before the trial court every month and directed him not to leave Maharashtra without prior approval of the trial court.
