Bengaluru, Dec. 2 -- The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday dismissed a private complaint filed against Energy Minister KJ George concerning allegations of manipulation in the smart meter tender process of the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM).
Justice MI Arun passed the order while allowing a petition filed by George seeking quashing of the case. Similar petitions had also been moved by former BESCOM Managing Director D Mahantesh Bilagi and Director (Technical) HJ Ramesh.
The Court also terminated criminal proceedings against Bilagi, noting that he had recently died in a road accident.
