Mumbai, Dec. 12 -- The Bombay High Court on Friday allowed Father Frazer Mascarenhas, former principal of St Xavier's College here, to file a fresh petition challenging the magistrate's judicial inquiry report and the Maharashtra Human Rights Commission's (MHRC) order pretaining to death in custody of Father Stan Swamy, an accused in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case.
The reports concluded that Fr. Swamy's death in Taloja jail in Navi Mumbai was due to natural causes.
Mascarenhas had initially approached the High Court seeking a judicial inquiry into Swamy's death and clearance of his name in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case.
