Mangaluru, Jan. 11 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday said that the Hate Speech Bill, which was passed unanimously by the legislature, has not been rejected by the Governor.

Speaking to mediapersons here, he clarified that Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has neither returned the Bill nor rejected it, nor has he given his assent so far. "When the Governor calls for it, we will provide the necessary explanation," he said.

Replying to a question on the BJP's proposed padyatra from Ballari, Siddaramaiah said that the Congress had undertaken a padyatra in the past as well.
