Chandigarh, Sept. 27 -- The Haryana government has heightened its efforts to curb stubble burning, with the appointment of two officers to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) cell in Mohali, Punjab.
The team includes an IPS officer serving as an Environmental Engineer (HQ) and an Assistant Environmental Engineer, both assigned to monitor activities until November 30.
The CAQM cell, established in Mohali, focuses on continuous oversight of paddy stubble management and pollution-related activities in Punjab and Haryana.
To further strengthen anti-pollution measures in Haryana's NCR districts, the state has devised a plan to monitor 6,47,696 farmers, particularly in identified hotspot villages prone to crop residue burning.
