Chandigarh, Feb. 20 -- The budget session of the Haryana Assembly began on Friday, marking the first time in the state's history that proceedings began with the chanting of national song Vande Mataram.
The session, attended by lawmakers from both the treasury and opposition benches, opened with a comprehensive address by Governor Professor Asim Ghosh, who outlined the state's robust economic health and its long-term developmental roadmap.
During his address, Governor Ghosh highlighted Haryana's significant contribution to the national economy, noting that the state accounts for 3.8% of India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
