Chandigarh, Aug. 22 -- Haryana's e-Bhoomi Policy is transforming land acquisition by prioritizing farmer consent and transparency, ensuring no land is taken without willingness, the state government announced.

Introduced in 2017 and updated in July 2025, the policy replaces the coercive 2013 Central Act, allowing farmers to voluntarily sell land at market rates, pool it for developed plots, or resell to HSIIDC after three years.

The policy restricts land purchases to public infrastructure projects, barring private developers, and addresses farmers' concerns about exploitation.

With 353 registered aggregators assisting farmers in listing land on the e-Bhoomi portal for free, 1,850 acres have already been offered voluntarily.
