Chandigarh, March 10 -- A high-profile investigation into the illegal felling of 10,000 Khair trees across Haryana has taken a dramatic turn following the release of an emotional video by Vijay Kumar, a suspended forester previously stationed in Panchkula.

In a video lasting over five minutes, Kumar leveled serious allegations of collusion between timber smugglers and department officials, claiming that the scale of the forest scam extends far beyond Panchkula to sanctuary lands across the state.

The whistleblower forester expressed deep personal distress, stating that he was so disillusioned by the lack of support for his honesty that he traveled to Haridwar to perform his own funeral rites and 'Pind Daan' while still alive.
