Chandigarh, Oct. 13 -- Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was honoured with the prestigious Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award by the Global Punjabi Association in recognition of his leadership and efforts to promote social harmony and the welfare of the Sikh community. The award ceremony took place at Tagore Theatre in Chandigarh, where the Chief Minister was the Chief Guest.

On the occasion, Saini released a Hindi book titled "Tilak Janju Ka Rakha," written by Dr. Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Chief Patron of the Global Punjabi Association. The book is a detailed account of the life, travels, and supreme sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Guru of the Sikhs, known for his defence of human rights and religious freedom.
