Chandigarh, Jan. 9 -- Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi has been admitted to a private hospital in Mohali after his health deteriorated, officials said on Friday.
They said he complained of severe chest pain Thursday night, and was rushed to Fortis Hospital, where doctors confirmed he had suffered a major heart attack.
Rastogi underwent surgery on Friday under the supervision of senior cardiac surgeon Dr P.S. Mahant. Hospital sources said he is currently being monitored in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and is likely to be shifted to a private room in the next one or two days, depending on his recovery.
Doctors have advised him to take complete bed rest for at least two months.
