Dehradun, Dec. 6 -- A case of gross negligence by the state Health department surfaced in Haridwar town of Uttarakhand today when a dead body kept at mortuary was discovered eaten by the rats.
Family of the deceased person created bedlam at Haridwar District Hospital and demanded action against the officials responsible for this.
Incicdent came to the light this morning, when the family members of Lakhan Sharma alias Lucky (36), the deceased manager of Punjabi Dharamshala in Jwalapur Haridwar, turned furious on noticing injury-like marks on his face and eyes at district hospital mortuary. They noticed that several rats were moving around in the mortuary and the parts of the dead body were nibbled.
