Bengaluru, Dec. 1 -- Hardik Pandya is set to turn out for Baroda in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), marking his first competitive appearance since late September.

National selector Pragyan Ojha is expected to watch Baroda's matches against Punjab and Gujarat on December 2 and 4 to assess Hardik's match fitness ahead of upcoming national selections.

Hardik last played for India on September 26 during the Asia Cup Super Fours clash against Sri Lanka, after which a left quadricep injury sidelined him. He began rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on October 15, took a short Diwali break, and then continued his fitness program from October 21 to November 29.
