Los Angeles, May 26 -- After nearly three decades at the forefront of American heavy metal/hard rock band scene, Godsmack is opening a powerful new chapter with their sights set firmly on Europe.

However, before embarking on the tour, the band is planning a year-long hiatus.

With no new music planned and no further tour dates announced, frontman Sully Erna hinted at the year-long break, during which he plans to shift his attention to solo projects or pursue opportunities in TV and film.

"I might end up writing music for movies or even acting again... I'm definitely exploring other things besides Godsmack," he added, reports Hungarian music site, Hammer World.
