Srinagar, Dec. 6 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against two absconding accused - including habitual offender Zahid Bashir Sofi alias Shagoo - for allegedly duping a man of over Rs 34 lakh through a fabricated export business scam involving mutton, rice and other goods purportedly bound for Dubai, officials said on SaturdayThe chargesheet was produced before the Court of City Judge, Srinagar, against two accused individuals, including Zahid Shagoo, a resident of Andrabi Colony, Narbal in a case registered in 2023 under Sections 420 and 120-B RPC.
As both accused persons continue to remain absconding, the chargesheet was presented in absentia under Section 512 CrPC, EoW said.
