Srinagar, March 5 -- The Special Crime Wing (SCW) of the Crime Branch Kashmir on Thursday arrested an alleged habitual fraudster accused of duping youths by promising overseas jobs, officials said.

The accused, identified as Farhat Abbas Malik of Tendla Chilipingal in Doda, was apprehended by a special team of SCW from Faridabad, Haryana after evading arrest for several months in connection with an FIR registered at the Special Crime Wing police station.

Police said Malik allegedly cheated several youths from Srinagar by promising them jobs abroad, particularly in Armenia.

After his arrest, the accused was produced before a competent court in Srinagar following the grant of transit remand by a duty magistrate in Faridabad.
