Kolkata, Nov. 24 -- Taking cognisance of media reports about a "reverse migration" of hundreds of alleged illegal immigrants from Bangladesh following the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose on Monday visited the BSF border outpost at Swarupnagar in North 24 Parganas to assess the situation firsthand.

Bose reached Hakimpara in Swarupnagar around 5.15 pm and interacted extensively with local residents and those staying in temporary shelters before speaking with security personnel.

"Is there so much security for this 'reverse migration'?" he asked BSF officials while reviewing the deployment.
