Melbourne, Dec. 27 -- England's injury woes deepened during the Boxing Day Test against Australia as fast bowler Gus Atkinson sustained a hamstring injury on the second day of the fourth Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) website, Atkinson was forced off the field after completing his fifth over on Saturday morning, pulling up in visible discomfort following the final delivery.
The England and Wales Cricket Board later confirmed that the right-arm pacer was experiencing soreness in his left hamstring and would be assessed further.
