Gangtok, Aug. 4 -- The statue of Guru Rinpoche, maintained by Dodrupchen Rinpoche at Chorten Lhagang, was carried in the Guru Chyendren procession today to mark Guru Rinpoche's Trungkar Tsechu.
Led by the monks blowing ritual instruments and followed by devotees and students chanting the 'Vajra Guru' mantra, the solemn procession began from Deorali and passed through Metro Point, Zero Point and White Hall before returning to Chorten Gonpa.
The highlight of today's celebration was the rare unveiling of Guru Rinpoche's Thanka during the Guru Rinpoche's Trungkar Tsechu celebration at Chorten Monastery.
