Chandigarh, Dec. 26 -- Panic gripped villagers in Naurangabad village of Bhiwani district in Haryana on Friday after gunfire broke out during an ongoing panchayat meeting, leaving a young man injured.
The incident led to chaos at the gathering as residents rushed to ensure safety.
According to preliminary information, a heated argument erupted between two groups during the panchayat over an unresolved issue. The verbal dispute quickly escalated, and one person allegedly opened fire, resulting in a bullet injury to a youth identified as Upender, a resident of Bawani Khera who had come to Naurangabad to visit relatives.
