Latehar (Jharkhand), Oct. 6 -- Criminals opened fire and detonated explosives near the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Tori coal siding on the Tori Shivpur rail stretch in the Chandwa police station area last night, police said.
One siding worker, identified as Gopal Sinha, was shot and sustained serious injuries.
He was initially treated at the Chandwa Community Health Centre before being referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for specialized care.
Police said two armed assailants reached the NTPC Tori coal yard around midnight yesterday and began indiscriminate firing.
