Mumbai, March 3 -- The ongoing conflict in the Gulf region has severely impacted onion and grape exports from Nashik, with around 200 containers reportedly stranded at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT).

Registration at Dubai port has been suspended since Saturday night, directly affecting shipments from Maharashtra. Long queues of containers have formed at JNPT, raising fears that thousands of tonnes of onions could perish if delays persist.

Exporters said the suspension has created uncertainty in dispatch schedules. Growers, already facing price volatility, are concerned about mounting losses.
