Srinagar, Oct. 18 -- City centre Lal Chowk and its historic landmark, Ghanta Ghar, were transformed into a riot of colours today as the city hosted its first large-scale Chrysanthemum bloom show.

The autumn display added to the beauty of the city and aims to boost tourism during the quieter fall season, bridging the gap between the summer rush and winter snow.

The spectacle was created by postgraduate and PhD students of SKUAST-K's Division of Floriculture, under the guidance of Head of Division Prof Imtiyaz Tahir Nazki and faculty members, who worked overnight to install approximately 3,000 pots of vibrant Chrysanthemums (Gul-e-Dawood).
