Panaji, Oct. 27 -- World Chess Champion D Gukesh today said he is looking forward to returning to Goa, a place that holds special memories of his early playing career, as he prepares to spearhead the Indian challenge at the FIDE World Cup 2025.
"I am really excited about the World Cup. Playing anywhere in India is great and I have some great memories of Goa. I have played some junior events there. So, looking forward to being there," Gukesh said. The reigning world champion will also start as the top seed in the tournament.
