Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 6 -- The Kerala Cyber Police have arrested a 25-year-old Gujarat resident for allegedly duping a city-based doctor of Rs 1.11 crore through a fake share-trading scheme, in which the accused channelled the money into cryptocurrency wallets before moving it overseas.
The accused, Parmar Prateek Bipinbhai, a resident of Bapunagar in Ahmedabad, was taken into custody during a special operation in the city.
Police said the fraudster transferred the cheated amount into cryptocurrency wallets and other digital payment channels, later converting and moving the money abroad.
