Mumbai, Sept. 15 -- Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat today sworn in as the Governor of Maharashtra.

The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Darbar Hall in Raj Bhavan, here.

Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, Shri Chandrashekhar, administered the oath of office to Devvrat, who took the oath in Sanskrit.

The ceremony was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and other dignitaries.

Governor Acharya Devvrat has been given the additional charge of Governor of Maharashtra following the resignation of former Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan on September 11, after being elected Vice President of India.

At 66, Acharya Devvrat has been serving as the Governor of Gujarat since 2019. A fo...
