Vijayawada, Sept. 21 -- Andhra Pradesh Minister for Health and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav today asserted that GST reforms will make health insurance schemes cheaper and protect public health.

In a statement, the Health Minister said the removal of the 18 percent GST on health insurance premiums would benefit the public. He noted that the prices of medicines and surgical equipment for cancer and other rare diseases would also fall.

Yadav mentioned that the prices of vaccines and diagnostic kits for HIV, hepatitis, and TB would also be reduced, providing financial relief to those who need them.
