Ballari, Oct. 16 -- union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today said that the rationalisation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates has opened up new opportunities for growth and financial inclusion in rural areas of Karnataka.

Speaking at a review meeting of Karnataka Grameena Bank (KGB) at its Head Office in Ballari, Sitharaman highlighted that the increase in rural consumption following GST reforms has created a favourable environment for credit expansion and local enterprise development.

She urged Karnataka Grameena Bank to leverage these emerging opportunities by enhancing credit flow to branches operating in semi-urban and rural areas.
