New Delhi, Sept. 6 -- union Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw today said the income tax relief measures announced in the union Budget 2025-26, along with the rationalisation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates, would provide a significant impetus to the Indian economy.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters here, Vaishnaw described the recent tax reforms as "pro-people" and aimed particularly at easing the financial burden on millions of Indian households particularly middle-class households, to be effective from September 22.
