Kolkata, July 31 -- The Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) today delivered "Himgiri", an Advanced Guided-Missile Frigate and the first of three being built by the city based warship maker under the Indian Navy's Project 17A.
With the delivery of a modern weapons fitted vessel, the first of three GRSE-built frigates, the Indian Navy gets a significant boost to its advanced guided-missile frigates capabilities in maritime warfare.
Himgiri is the 801st vessel to be built and delivered by GRSE. Of these 112 are warships - a record unmatched by any shipyard in the country, till date.
