Lucknow, May 28 -- In a move towards increasing green cover across Uttar Pradesh, the state government will form 'Green Chaupal' in villages with an aim to transform the plantation efforts into a public movement, ensuring active community involvement in environmental conservation, a forest department official said here on Wednesday.

Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Projects) Ramkumar said that in line with the vision of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, preparations are underway for the formation of Green Chaupals.
