Dumka, Sept. 20 -- Unidentified assailants brutally murdered a grandmother and her granddaughter in Dumka district's Shikaripara police station area late on Friday night.
The double murder has once again brought Shikaripara into the spotlight for a heinous crime.
Police sources confirmed that the victims have been identified as 72-year-old Sona Baskey and her 19-year-old granddaughter Sona Murmu. Both were attacked with sharp-edged weapons in their home at Amchua village, while Murmu's six-month-old infant lay beside them. The child was left unharmed.
