Agartala, Oct. 13 -- Tripura Police arrested a 40 yrs old man accused of murdering his 14-month-old granddaughter and burying her body in a paddy field in the Padmabil area under the Panisagar sub-division of North Tripura district yesterday.
According to police, the incident came to light late Saturday night after the accused, identified as Jaynal Uddin, a day labourer, took the child from her mother, saying he wanted to go on an outing at the village in the evening, but did not return the child to her mother after three hours.
