Khammam, Dec. 14 -- A Gram Panchayat sarpanch candidate died at Anasagar village in Nelakondapalli mandal of Khammam district on Sunday.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Damala Nagaraju, who had filed his nomination as an independent candidate for the sarpanch post in Nelakondapalli.
He reportedly fell ill on Saturday evening, allegedly due to stress during the election campaign, and was admitted to a hospital.
