Patna, Feb. 16 -- Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Samrat Choudhary stated in the Assembly on Monday that the government is alert to the increasing menace of "dry drugs" trafficking in the Seemanchal region and is taking continuous action in coordination with the Narcotics Department to curb it.

Replying to a short notice question of MLA I. P. Gupta, Choudhary said the state government is making all possible efforts to curb drug abuse in Seemanchal.

He said a dedicated unit has been created to prevent the use and trafficking of narcotics such as opium and smack. The government is coordinating with the Narcotics Department and taking steps to control drug activity in border areas. He added that a special officer of DIG rank ha...
