Kalaburagi, Sept. 18 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today said the state government will again recommend to the Centre the inclusion of the Kuruba community in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.

The previous recommendation had been returned by the Centre, and Siddaramaiah assured that additional data and supporting documents will be prepared for resubmission.

Speaking at a programme organised by the Karnataka State Kuruba Sangha and Sangolli Rayanna Youth Association, the Chief Minister also unveiled a statue of freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna and named the city bus station after him. He highlighted Rayanna's legacy, noting his birth anniversary falls on August 15, while he was executed on January 26.
