Agartala, March 7 -- Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday said the state government has given special emphasis on strengthening the Panchayatraj system.
Inaugurating a pogramme of award distribution to the best performing of panchayat, he said they were working with the aim of ensuring the sustainable development of the panchayatiraj institutions.
"The government is committed to strengthening infrastructure of the Panchayat bodies as well as advancing good governance and development," the CM said.
Speaking about the Panchayat Development Index, Dr Saha stated that Tripura has reached the highest level in three areas, which is not just an individual achievement but a collective honour earned through teamwork.
